Welcome to the new members and welcome to those of you who have been here for a while now 🧡.
Yesterday it was just one of those days for me. Mistakes, delays, obstacles, breakdowns you name it.
This got me thinking about how we can find it within ourselves to overcome seemingly “bad days”?
So, what word of encouragement can you offer to those in our community who might be needing it?
I’ll be sharing my response in the comments 🫶🏽.
To those who have had a bad day or two this week, please know that we can overcome and this may mean seeking professional or other appropriate support.
Praying for a blessed end of the week for you all.
I'm loving all the advice and wisdom we are sharing here 😊. Personally for me, one thing that has helped is connecting with community when things seem to be going not how we would like. I find leaning on the wisdom of a friend or even searching out people who share their experiences on platforms such as YouTube can help me feel less alone. You realise that we are human and we will sometimes get things wrong. Being open about our humanity with those we trust can liberate us from the isolation that these experiences can otherwise make us feel.
Finding strength within ourselves or by our own might is one of the hardest things to do; turning to God for strength in the midst of bad days however is one of the best ways of dealing with a bad day in my opinion.
It’s interesting how we are told in the Bible (1 Thess 5:16-18 to be happy always and to pray without ceasing. It doesn’t make sense naturally to think of gratitude in the midst of chaos; but by finding one thing in the midst of chaos to be thankful for, we find peace, we find God. We don’t have all the answers but when we turn to the One who has all the answers we experience peace in the midst of various storms. Jesus is indeed our rock and salvation 🙏🏾✨
“Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.”
Hi Dela, thank you so much for sharing what has really helped you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 is a great passage because it reminds us that God wants us to be joyful at all times, and as you suggest, to turn to him in the midst of chaos. Relying on our own strength can only take us so far so its important to remember that we have a Power greater than we could ever be, available to us at all times.
Made a mistake that cost substantial amount of money the other week at work. It's always a difficult experience. Sleeping does the trick and maybe a little bit of old school drake on spotify. But before that, it's good to write down all the worries on paper, if its a mistake, we make sure we learn from it to prevent that from happening again. Still, sleep is great, the passing of time does wonders for any problem regardless of its severity. 1) deal with it 2) accept and 3) move on.
Hi Ade, thank you so much for sharing, and reading your advice has given me a lot of encouragement with how to respond to these situations in the future. I love how the responses you suggest are very practical and we can take action on them immediately. "The passing of time does wonders for any problem regardless of its severity." A word!
Thank you Sam for this! We can so easily allow the feelings of a bad day to consume us and take on this really fatalistic thinking. When in reality, as you suggest, we have available to us the opportunity that a new day brings - to start over. Refreshed and with more character than the day before.
