Welcome to day 1 of the 9 DAYS NO FEAR challenge. We can see this as a community event where every day, for the next 9 days of November, I will be encouraging you to listen to the still small voice and get clear about what you want in life.
Maybe you have already listened to the still small voice. Maybe you have clarity. But I know that this challenge is going to help me and at least one of you reading in need of some encouragement.
For one or more reasons, you may find yourself in a difficult season, far from the life you dream of or in need of a reminder to pursue what it is that is important to you. *Enter the adjoainghana online community*.
If you are new here, akwaaba (welcome). If you want to be introduced to what adjoainghana is all about, you can read my first ever blog post here. I would highly encourage you to check out the archive if you want to get a flavour for the kinds of topics we explore.
If you have been here since the beginning, medaase paa (a.k.a. thank you, with emphasis!) You may see some familiar lines over the next 9 DAYS as I will be revisiting wisdom shared in previous blog posts.
Now this is the 9 DAYS NO FEAR challenge. So what can we expect?
To experience a wake-up call.
To receive a resounding reminder that we cannot afford to live on auto-pilot, hoping that things will mysteriously change.
We can no longer let the noise and distractions of life (which often show up as fears in some shape or form) block our lifeline to something greater that may be stirring within.
Essentially, we need to start making some decisions or at least begin preparing for making decisions that will bring us into alignment with the lives we want to live.
So, for day 1 we’re going to keep it nice and introductory. What are you afraid of?
Okay maybe that is not a nice and introductory question BUT I want us to seriously ask ourselves this question.
Now this still small voice I’ve mentioned. Who or what is that?
For me, that voice is called Holy Spirit, inner Power, inner Guide, inner Counsellor, or inner Advocate. Maybe the language for you is intuition. I won’t get into the mechanics of that here but the important thing to note is that you should trust this still small voice.
How can you trust something you don’t know?
That’s a deep question. So to make a long and complex concept short, you may need to determine for a moment where this still small voice is going to come from for this 9 DAYS NO FEAR challenge.
For me, I go to the Scriptures because to me, that is my instruction book. A trustworthy, tried and tested source of wisdom. And it is through the Scriptures that I begin to hear this still small voice.
So again, I ask you.
What are you afraid of?
I believe the answers lie within each of us and the aim of this challenge is for you to get clear about the fear you don’t want to control you, so that you can get clear about the life you do want to live. In freedom.
Now the 9 DAYS NO FEAR challenge is not about completely eliminating fear from your life. (Nor is it about making irresponsible, unsafe, unconscious decisions.)
Fear can be purposeful and helpful.
But here, in this challenge, in this moment of the year … we’re talking about the kind of fear that has you feeling overwhelmed, negative, burnt out, oppressed, trapped, like you’re wearing a mask …
So I want you to set an intention right now for this challenge.
9 DAYS NO FEAR. What does that mean to you?
What do you want DAY 9 to look like for you?
Like I said, this challenge will not completely eliminate fear from your life. Nor should it.
But it may help you to get honest with yourself about where you’re holding back, where you’re settling, where you’re abandoning yourself time and time again for an agenda that is not your own. A.K.A. the fruits of fear
So finish this sentence, maybe jot your response down on paper or type it in your notes app:
On day 9 of the 9 DAYS NO FEAR challenge, November 9 2023 to be exact, I intend to …
You may want to live a life that has more flexibility, start making more confident decisions, or completely reinvent yourself.
It is up to you to decide.
That is the exciting part. The part that is filled with opportunity and possibility.
Hope.
So, with that being said, I hope this challenge is right on time for you and I hope it serves us well as we usher in new beginnings and choose authentic, free lives in our own unique ways.
“If a bird does not fly, it goes to bed hungry.”
Akan Proverb 🇬🇭
My fellow human, fly 🦋.
With love and straight from the heart,
Adjoa 🧡
DO YOU NEED PRAYER?
I personally commit this challenge to Jehovah God in prayer because I can do nothing without Him. One of my favourite names for God is Jehovah Jireh meaning “The Lord will Provide.” And I believe the Lord will provide for you in your situation.
This is completely optional but if you would like me to add you to my personal prayer list I will pray for you everyday of this challenge. If you would like me to just pray generally for you I can do that. If you want me to pray more specifically for something you are placing your hope in the One Above for, I can do that too. All you have to do is direct message me on instagram to create a safe space and impose no pressure.
Regardless, I hope you will meet me here everyday for the next 9 DAYS. It’s my birthday in 9 DAYS also and so I will be sharing a special gift with each participant of the challenge at the end 🎁. Details of how to receive your gift will be given on DAY 9.
Thank you so much for all your support.
You are treasured.
You are special.
You have a purpose in this world.
Never forget that.
Great challenge Adjoa✨✨. Interesting Akan proverb too 🦅
